I was an incredible honour for me and my team to be flown to New York to shoot Alexandra Eichner’s wedding to Ozzie. The wedding stretched over five days of celebration. Starting off with a welcome dinner at La Mercerie.. a Guild restaurant just off Broadway in Manhattan.
There was nothing traditional about Allie and Ozzie’s wedding. Allie wanted a real New Yorker wedding. Cocktails, disco balls and Drag queens. No sit down lengthy dinner .. Allie wanted her wedding to be a party ! And there is no better venue than the famous Boom Boom Room at the Standard Highline in the Meatpacking district. It’s one of New York’s most coveted venues, dripping in gold with 360 degree views of New York City skyline, it couldn’t possibly get more studio 54 ! Larger than life performances from one of New York’s most well known drag queen Trinity the Tuck, and beautiful burlesque dancers welcomed guests whilst floating in oversized champagne glasses.
Day three was dedicated to a post wedding shoot – we had to make sure that all five weddings dresses were captured. From city street scenes in Soho to getting that iconic shot on Brooklyn Bridge to shooting in Cecconi’s Italian restaurant in Dumbo, it really doesn’t get better than this. What an opportunity. Forever grateful to Allie and Ozzie and the insanely professional New York team who we had the privilege to work alongside.
